Remington 870’s

The next project I started on was a ways down the road. I had bought a couple of old 870’s and coated them with Cerakote Sniper Gray in H series, which was a departure from using C series. The reason being was that I had another project that would not fit into my oven, so I figured this might do well on the 870’s. After removing the finish the same way as the Dr. Jules Von Frankshtein, I sprayed them down with the Sniper Gray and they both came out stunning. I also added a Wilson Combat shot shell carrier to both receivers, and an oversized safety from Wilson Combat as well. I capped it off with black magpul furniture and a Choate tool magazine extension.

A friend at work saw the pictures that I took and asked me to do the same thing. I picked up another 870 from a friend for $150, soaked it, gassed it out and blasted it and then finally coated it. I added the above mentioned upgrades and then Drilled and tapped the receiver for Wilson Combat Track Lock II Ghost Ring SIghts. This was a great decision and took a $150 shotgun with about $300 worth of parts on it and gave it to my friend for what he owed me. He threw me an extra $50 for my trouble, even though I had offered to do it pro bono. I was happy for the tip, but what I really enjoyed was the experience and the opportunity to get better.
